Sidewalk Chalk Project

Starting off, the beginning of this three day week, we (the class) were split into groups with strangers for 3 class periods to create anything using symbols that described us all. We first started off by discussing the sheet with symbols and their meanings and thought how they related to us. This was actually the hardest part for our group, as we all had to think of what we wanted to portray ourselves and there was a lot of difficulties along the way. But, after a while of discussing, we decided on making a shield, with all of the symbols that we had chosen for ourselves drawn on it (There was a soccer ball, a rainbow, a spider, and a dog).

After that, we moved on to starting our rough draft and putting our ideas together. We all put our ideas interacting with each other, and eventually we had all come up with our shield. After that, and we had a good idea of what we wanted our colors and we had our rough sketch, we moved outside to draw our final ideas with sidewalk chalk in the ONW Courtyard.

In the end, we had all had a great time working for the last three days on our project. It was a good way to build up teamwork skills, and although working with strangers was pretty hard, which, next time in a project, I feel that we should work with partners that we at least know a little bit and know we can work well together. Despite all of that, though, it was still a great experience!
